The Letter | Wedding Photography
Updated: Feb 14, 2020
More and more couples are writing letters to each other to read on their wedding day.
I like this idea and I enjoy photographing it because it sparks lots of emotions and/or laughs. I really love capturing those moements + the bride & groom can view the images later and see what each other's reactions were when reading it. It's a great way to start the big day!
Your letter to your fiancé is personal and should be read in private on your wedding day. The letter can include your feelings, the qualities you love about your significant other, memories you two have shared, plans & dreams for your future together or whatever you want to include. It does not need to be perfect. It does not need to be an essay. It's simply a love letter.
Your letter can be hand-written or typed. On pretty stationary or not. Some include it in a card. The choice is yours! There's no rules. The most important part are the words, not the paper. :)
The two of you can read your letters separately on your wedding day, or together.
Lastly, delegate a runner to deliver the letter to the bride & groom. This can be a bridesmaid, groomsmen, parent, etc.
Don't stress when writing your letter. Plan it out ahead of time. Jot down notes as you think of them. Remember, you don't have to be a professional writer. It should come from the heart and is something you can read in years to come! :)
